Greetings and welcome to my website.

Dear Reader,

When I started writing Hurdy Gurdy, I had no idea it was going to turn
into a 250 page novel.  And not only that, it got published!  It began as an
entry for a writing contest.  The theme was “Unusual Cultural Practices” or
something of that nature.  I decided to write about the horrific topic of
“Bride Burning” from what I had learned while living in India.  But as I
researched and recalled stories of women I had interacted with, my writing
took a different path.  Each time I tried to continue it took another twist.
The deadline of the contest came and went and two years later I had written
over five hundred pages.  I could have written five thousand.  Many times in
my mind I traveled back to India, to the villages, to the homes, to churches
where I met and ministered to women from all walks of life. Hurdy Gurdy is
their story.
Since the book was published in 2004 I have received many wonderful e-mails and made a host of new
friends.  I’ve even met up with some old friends with whom I had lost contact.  One of those friends is
Lynnette Rebeiro.  We’ve become close friends and together we have written Blind Spot – a crime mystery set
in the Himalayas.  We are pleased to add that most of the proceeds from the sale of our book will go to a
worthy charity.

The books are available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders, Buy.com, Books-A-Million, Powell Books,
Waldenbooks and also from the publishers.  If you would an autographed bookplate please let me know.
This website includes some of my photographs and some sent to me by my friends.  As you view them perhaps
you will relive some of your own special memories of India - The Nilgiris, Darjeeling, Musoorie, Goa, Calcutta
some of the places mentioned in the novels.  Be sure to click on the link that will take you to Calcutta in the
early forties, when the British were still ruling.  You’ll see some very interesting and unusual pictures.  I wish
to thank David Nelson, South Asia Bibliographer, Van Pelt Library, University of Pennsylvania who kindly gave
permission for me to use the site so others can enjoy the photos.
